Dating during Corona (Covid-19) Times - Are the good guys still hiding?

2020 has not been a good year. On January 20, 2020 my dad was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street and died on the spot. On January 25, 2020 we buried my dad and the first case of Covid-19 was reported in Ontario. How do I remember this? I remember watching CP24 while waiting for our food. Our family got together at my mom's place for dinner after the burial.

On March 16th we were ordered to work from home. Toronto, like a lot of the cities in United States were shutting down except for essential services. So, during this time what do you do to pass time? Yes, work bazillion hours, but in between, I downloaded Tinder and Bumble to see what was around. Even though I can't meet up with them, talking to them to pass the boredom was a great idea. PLUS, apparently divorce rate is going to be high after this pandemic, so might as well start looking and jump on them once the ink dries.

There are three guys I have talked to, I met them through Tinder. 1st Lawyer, I wish he was into me. 2nd Global Finances, hook up. 3rd, Import/Export, I wish he would get the hint.

First guy - he is a Criminal Defense Lawyer who works in Toronto and lives in Ajax. We seemed to have great chemistry on Tinder, but as soon as we moved to text, the messages were far between and then he had a headache. I totally understand random headaches, as I get them too. I told him to message me when he felt better. That was three weeks ago.. I guess I won't hear from him.

Second guy - he works for a Global Investment firm, he knows I work for a law firm and he said he knows the named partners. My firm is a global firm and we were taken over by a British firm, so is he saying he knows the British people? Or the firm it used to be? Either way, I am pretty sure they are dead. This guy is adamant we meet in person during this social distancing/pandemic. I told him, I am not going to meet him, I don't know him and also, there is no where for us to meet. He suggested his house. So, we know what he wants.

Third guy - this guy works for a logistics company, because they were considered essential, he was going into work everyday. I honestly don't know why I was talking to him. He seemed very into me, but we had nothing in common. Talking to him was a chore and I felt bad. He was always the one initiating conversation. I wish him all the best.

Now, during this time, I think people are going back to their old text messages and messaging people they used to talk to. I got a message from Dave, he is a teacher who lives in midtown. We chatted briefly in 2019 and all of a sudden I get a message from him. He is super into tennis and riding his bike, two things I do not want to do when it's scorching hot, but we will see where this goes.
