Instagram Scam 2.0 - Celebrity Dr Messaging Me?

Image
I can't believe there are so many scammers on Instagram! This has been evident on the show 90 Day Fiance - Before the 90 Days when Yolanda was scammed by Williams. For those who do not watch this show you must. After the first scam, another Asian guy messaged me. He was from UK, but this time in London. He was in Engineering, starting to sound familiar? This was starting to feel like deja vu, so I asked my friend who likes to do detective work to investigate. She did a reverse image, she found the real guy. The real guy lives in Hong Kong living his best life, he can barely speak English. I messaged him to let him know that there is a scammer using his pictures. He was shocked. I will not post his picture as he is a real person. Honestly people, if you are not a celebrity you should put your settings to private. Even Celebrities have a private account. The scammer got all his pictures from his Instagram. Today I received a private message, this one was a doctor. Instagram han...

Instagram Scam Sham!

Image
Hello Everyone! Happy 2020! We are barely into 2020 and I have been scammed already via Instagram! How can our beloved social media app betray us? Since working at my current job, it has been hard for me to date. So, I found it very suspicious when in early December, I got two friend requests on my personal Instagram page by two guys and they immediately DMed me. Guy 1 He is a Canadian born Thai, who is an Engineer, who lives in Thailand. His father passed away, when he was young and his mom couldn't afford him so she sent him to Thailand. Things just fizzled out because of the time zone difference, but at the same time there was 0% chance we would meet. He had no plans to come to Canada, which also means he had no plans to see his mom. Which is weird... But his Instagram had lots of photos of himself, so it seemed like a legit account. Guy 2 Guy 2 and Guy 1 messaged me on the same day.  Guy 2, whose name is "Steve Wu" lives in UK, is also an Engineer, he is hal...

Bonjour - Au revoir?

I went on a date with a guy I met on Coffee Meets Bagel. On the app, we had great conversation, one time we spent the whole day talking to each other instead of working. He seemed like a really nice guy and the pictures of him weren't bad. We talked everyday, during work, after work. So, I thought we should meet. We met on Sunday (yesterday), I was DEAD tired, but when I tried to reschedule for the following day, he said he had plans. I had already blown this guy off twice, and I wasn't going to do it again. I learned my lesson from the "Author" ( Money Over Happiness ), I didn't want to find out he found someone else and have a missed opportunity. I got my hair done (not for the date, my friend/stylist is going on mat leave) and I got a facial (not for the date, it was my scheduled routine facial time). So, I thought, I shouldn't waste this glam look. So, I hauled my ass, got the TTC stench off and got ready to meet Mr. Frenchie. Specs: Chinese born Fre...

Super Christian - Not a match

So, my aunt, I guess she is still asking around to see if any of her friend's friend have a single son. My parent took me out to dinner one day and told me that my aunt may have found someone for me. They told me, there is a guy, who is balding, I stopped them right then and there. I asked them if he was balding OR if his hair was receding. They changed their answer to receding, I should have gone with my gut instinct, that he was actually balding and my parents changed their answer to receding hairline because they knew hair is important to me. Anyways, fast forward the guy emailed me. He seemed to be very polite, he seemed pretty cool. Specs: Second Generation Korean Graduated from Western in Business 38 years old Super Christian, went to LA to see a speaker Owns a own business (health food store, I think taking over from parents) We like the same Tupac quote, I thought we were meant to me. I actually had high hopes for this guy.  I was a little late, to...

Paying is NOT Better!!

As Mama Jo actively seeks out for my potential husband on eHarmony, she is realizing that the quality of the men are going down and the lack of response is equal to the free sites. I called eHarmony to complain about the lack of response and they told me that I was outside of my cancellation period. They said they were going to to give one more free month, so, I told them, what is the point of having an extra month, when no one is messaging back? They said I was a special circumstance. I have a theory that eHarmony doesn't have a lot of people on their sites and the people that on are robots. OR these men have registered for free, and to respond back, they need to pay, and they are not paying. I have been very dissatisfied with eHarmony!

Mama Jo Hard at Work - Date 2: Too Many What the Fucks!?

Mama Jo sent me on a second date. I call this guy a Fake Vet. The only reason why Mama Jo messaged him was because he was a Veterinarian. Specs: Korean Veternarian 42 years old The date didn't start off great. While setting up for the date I told Mama Jo to tell Fake Vet which Starbucks to meet at. I was very specific with my directions, but Mama Jo insisted on an address. She looked up an address of a Starbucks, but I didn't check whether it was the correct address. You know where this is going, yes Mama Jo gave the guy the wrong address. Fast forward to date day. I rushed to the Starbucks (the one that I wanted to meet at) and I messaged him to let him know I was there. He messaged back and said he was there too. At that moment, I googled to see which Starbucks he was at, it turns out he was all the way across town. The reason why I chose the Starbucks that I did, was because I wanted to make it easier for him, as he was coming from far. When I got there, I apolog...

Mama Jo Hard at Work - Date 1: Husband Material, But Not For Me

Image
After a week on Eharmony Mama Jo had lined up a guy, I had agreed to meet him. BUT she found another guy who thought was going to be my husband. Specs: 36 years old Works in IT at a Commercial Property Firm Lives in Aurora From hereto, known as Aurora. Mama Jo thought he was sweet and genuine guy who would cherish the woman he is with. I completely agree with her, but I do not think he is for me. The initial conversation was great. He had chosen Terroni to meet, but being on a diet for the past 4 weeks, it is hard to find food you can eat at an Italian restaurant, especially when you LOVE pasta. But luckily Terroni had a great salad (Nazzarda).  He was confused because Mama Jo wrote how I love food, which I do, but Mama Jo loves food more. Then I explained how I have been on a diet and I am seeing a trainer. I also mentioned what my cheat meals are, and he said that is what he eats on a weekly basis. On a weekly basis, he orders $80 worth of sushi for himself, o...
