Bonjour - Au revoir?
I went on a date with a guy I met on Coffee Meets Bagel. On the app, we had great conversation, one time we spent the whole day talking to each other instead of working. He seemed like a really nice guy and the pictures of him weren't bad. We talked everyday, during work, after work. So, I thought we should meet. We met on Sunday (yesterday), I was DEAD tired, but when I tried to reschedule for the following day, he said he had plans. I had already blown this guy off twice, and I wasn't going to do it again. I learned my lesson from the "Author" (Money Over Happiness), I didn't want to find out he found someone else and have a missed opportunity.
I got my hair done (not for the date, my friend/stylist is going on mat leave) and I got a facial (not for the date, it was my scheduled routine facial time). So, I thought, I shouldn't waste this glam look. So, I hauled my ass, got the TTC stench off and got ready to meet Mr. Frenchie.

It turns out we live on the same street, he wanted to meet at Bier Markt, the same place where I had the dreadful date with the fake paramedic (Please do not resuscitate). We met in front of his place, when I saw him, I thought oooh, he's short. Luckily I was wearing flats. Once we were seated, we were just talking about what made him come to Canada, he was shy, and I think a little bit nervous as he was moving his hands as if he was washing them.
He had glasses and he had the nerdy look going for him (which I love, love me some nerds!). But the thing that got me was his French accent.. At first I couldn't really pin point it, I thought he had some weird Chinese/French accent, but when we ordered and he said "Salami", I kinda melted, I thought it was hot. We ordered a board and some drinks. His accent is not the over dramatic french accents we do to make fun of french people. Unlike other FOBs, he ordered for us. Can you call this guy a FOB? I mean he did have to take a plane here.
The date was ok, it wasn't anything memorable, but it wasn't bad. As mentioned, I was super tired, he walked me home, and I awkwardly shook this hand. As many dates I have been on, I feel like I still don't know how to end one. I thanked him and I said we should go to the Christmas Market after I come back. Because the date wasn't horrible, and the guy seems decent, I thought I would give it another try.
BUT! Today, our conversation just ended. We talked for a bit in the morning and nothing throughout the day. I messaged him later on in the evening, asking him how his day was, no answer. I know he has plans, so I understand if he doesn't message. He was at a friend's party yesterday and we were messaging all day. So, clearly he has a date tonight, which is fine. BUT if he was not interested, why exchange numbers? Albeit, I was the one who said we should exchange, because CMB closes chats within a week of talking. Sigh, if he doesn't message me tomorrow I will have to delete his number. If he messages me saying, he is not interested then I will be pissed and ask why we exchanged numbers. That is probably why people ghost.
It sucks when you don't feel a connection but one side is willing to go on another date, and if that one side is me. Oh wells, I am getting ready to go on my vacation, I can't really think about this. Perhaps when I come back I will try to go another date!
