Korean Mom - Korean Dating
As mentioned before I am Korean and those Korean dramas got it all wrong! The nice girl doesn't always get the guy.. In reality the bitchy ones always get the guy..
Anyways, what does it mean to be Korean? It means I need to follow the following milestones
I seem to be stuck at the finding someone and getting married part. To help speed that aspect of my life, my mom decided to send me off on various blind dates. Because I can't remember them all I am going to group them in this one blog.
Accountant
This guy was nice, good job, and shy.. He is an accountant for a major car industry. But soooo boring.. to the point where I pretty much drank a bottle of wine at dinner. Which isn't surprising because I can do that on a regular basis. But when you first meet someone you don't want them to know you're a borderline alcoholic!
Mom's church member's, son in laws, pastor, friend
I was a little late, but this guy turned out I knew his brother.. This guy himself was alright, but short. Nice, he told me a story how he went on a date and the girl never thanked him... Well, when our date was over it was that awkward time to pay we went halvies.. To me if you are interested in a girl then you pay. He said, "we should do this again". But I'm thinking.. No thank you. If I'm going to pay for myself, I would rather go to dinner with friends.
I am not a gold digger by any means, but what is the point of going on a date if you pay for yourself? I would might as well just stayed home and saved money. It's not like he was interesting in anyway.. So, why would I go back out with him?
Surveyor
He said he was a "Surre-bEh-Uh", which I mistaken that for a Server. Lets just say this whole 3 hour lunch was in Korean. Enough said!
Tae Kwon Don't
This date was literally set up by our parents. I didn't even talk to him prior to this date. Our parents set up the location. The dude was 15 mins late, thought he was going to be your "average" looking Korean. But when he walked in, he took my breath away because he was actually good looking!
Tall! Fit! Good Looking! But it turned out he didn't really have a passion. His passion was to take over his Father's Tae Kwon Do business! He didn't want to do anything else with his life. I didn't really see that being ambitious.. He didn't want to pursue anything else in life, because he knew his father was going to hand him this business. But unfortunately, his father still doesn't trust him to hand it over to him. How sad is that? If you're 36 and your father still thinks you're not ready!?
He goes by his Korean name, so I asked him if he had an English name and he said he did.... It was Christian, I said that was a nice name and ask how he came up with it.. He said he read it in 50 Shades..
I thought the date went well, HE EVEN PAID!!! But I guess not because there wasn't a second one.

38 and Fobulous!
This was another Korean guy who's English was hard to understand. He was 38, really nice, great job! But how can I be with someone who's English is that bad? My Korean is strong enough to probably last me a day! I knew this wasn't going to go anywhere. I offered to pay for half but he insisted on paying. We parted ways knowing there wasn't going to be a second date.

When looking for a guy it's hard to say looks doesn't matter because that's the first thing you see. But if the personality is not there either, then the date gets hard. But I don't know how I manage 2-6 hour dates?! I guess I just like talking and listening. My second blind date was probably one of my shortest dates, it only lasted 2 hours.
Now my mom has run out of people to set me up with.. So, it's time for me to find them on my own!

- Graduate University (check)

- Have children
